2008 Vintage HIWATT All Stars - The Lost Sessions!

Post by OldSchoolDave »

At LONG last, audio evidence of the 2008 Vintage HIWATT All Stars has been processed and uploaded to this site. Again, huge thanks to JC103 for his recording and processing. Before anyone jumps on the mix, this unique event was captured via ambient mics only and there were some serious SPLs in that room  .

Here, for your listening pleasure, are the 2008 Vintage HIWATT All Stars - The Lost Sessions:

It certainly wouldn't hurt to have someone who can tighten up all the teeth rattled loose by the POWER of HIWATT along on the tour :D .

Sounds great in the car... much easier on the eardrums!

Great tone and A Mighty Wind that night...

We should note for those who weren't there that the tone and distortion is mostly all Hiwatt, I was using only a wire, and I don't think David was using pedals either. My ears still ring just thinking about it. :!:

Any of you old enough to remember that Maxell commercial can get an idea of what it was like.

Exactly! I sought refuge in the "sonic shadow" behind the fireplace on occasion.

Ugh. Rather humiliating, actually, and I'm just talking about my side of things. Ugh. A little shame now and then is good for one. Yuk, ugh, fooey.

It was fun to do at the time, though.

Too bad some of the Friday night jam stuff wasn't recorded.

Hopefully next summer both nights can be recorded! I will try to be better prepared next year.

Just to clarify, I was talking about my playing. I'm a hard taskmaster, even when it comes to myself!
