Hey guys, I've got a line on a mid 70's cab that is said to have the original fanes. Couple tears in the grillcloth and associated wear on the tolex, price is $999 CAN. Pictures of front and back with serial tag, and close-up of speakers are being sent to me today or tomorrow. I will post them when I receieve them. I am too excited so I had to start a thread already! You can see the top of the cab in this pic:

If all is as represented, jump on that thing! And, if you don't want it, let us know...

It's missing the back panel! But I bought it anyways. Even the Hiwatts that are missing limbs need homes.

yes, those are the model used in SE4123 till 1978 or so. They are great speakers, slightly more punchy and less woody than cast frame Fanes, but excellent none the less.
Are you seriously considering NOT buying the full stack????
No Way!

Who says there aren't many HIWATTs in Canada?
Looks like you hit the Mother Load!

Thanks Doc. We'll see about the other cab, it might already be spoken for. Besides, I just bought Mike's Reeves cab with Thames...

Very nice cab - it's identical to my #6494 but a little more road-worn and faded. All the cones appear to be original - those are getting harder and harder to find.

The top cab in the photo is $1000 CAN, the bottom is $1300 CAN, the bottom one being in a bit better shape. I think I will be buying the less expensive one, as I like the beat-up looking ones anyways.

Here are the front pics. I bought the top cab, so the bottom one is up for grabs.

Congrats. That's a great find.
I was amused to see portions of a Peavey T-60 in those shots.
I bought the first one to reach our town, as I was tired of hauling my '62 Strat into nasty ol' honkeytonks. Ah, the memories...(Headliner's in Madison, WI - circa 1979 - during a two year lapse into Country Rock).
Skinny AND (almost) a full head of hair...whodathunkit

Ha! Nice catch, I didn't even notice that pointy headstock in the corner. The cab is at Capsule Music in Ontario, capsulemusic.com, if you're interested in the other cab (in case the hang tags didn't give it away).

Email has been sent. Do they typically respond quickly?
