Two accounts were created for the purposes of spamming this board. They've been locked out.

Interesting that they went through the trouble of verification via working email addresses (in these cases, akasky@100-free-ringtone.info and hkhuzfep@mail15.com ). I've seen other boards totally swamped with that garbage, but they were usually ones that didn't require registration / login.

Sorry Hiwatt Bob - you'll have to get your porn elsewhere .

Were you referring to "Niceforxx", who logged in via email address vcam3@bonbon.net ? He/She is banned now, too.

These "memberships" are attempts to gain click counts through their "free porn" link sites & google analytics. I'll take a look to see if we can add another checks and balances step to enrollment, to make sure the folks signing up are really here for the Hiwatts and not the porn (Hiwatt Bob excepted, of course ).

All kidding aside, I'd really like to pay these jerks a visit. I don't quite understand how they get in here, but I'm glad you guys nail them.

Would one of those "secret words" you must enter before you join (the ones that look sort of wavy, like gravy) help us defeat them? I've joined a few sites that feature such secret words that constantly change. Just a thought....

According to the settings on the Control Screen, we're using that technology. I'll have to try to sign up for a new account and verify that. If it is, indeed, in place, that means that the spammers are actually going through the trouble of manually joining sites to propagate their spew.

EDIT: Yep, just logged off and went to register as a new member. We do use that scrambled character graphic mechanism to impede automated sign-ups and require human involvement.
