Nice!

Was that a local find or was it shipped in?

FWIW, the original grill cloth on that one would have been black, but the S&P looks great.

This cab was located within 100 miles of my home. I gave up a (non big 10 network) televised Wi vs. Texas BB game to get it. Did I mention that the Big Ten Network and Charter cable both suck?

I always wondered if these cabs live up to their reputation as sounding great. I had honestly never tried one although a friend had a Marshall bottom with Fanes in it, and I've always had (and always will keep)Marshall bottoms. Anyway, this cab sounds beautiful. It has a nice bottom thump to it. It also has great highs. The Fanes clean up real nice, the breakup is at the right spot, and their character at high volume is very nice.

Wonder no more!

There's just something magic about the HIWATT / Fane combination. Just as there is with Marshall / Celestion.

If you ever get tired of that cab, I know of at least a couple of guys who wouldn't mind driving down I-94 to take it off your hands ;) .

Crank it up and enjoy!

Since you're a member of this board, I'll share my secret to gear acquisition with you (shhhhh, this is just between you and me ;) ):

Keep everything in black flight cases. To your better half, they'll probably all look the same. When you uncrate something to enjoy and she asks; "When did you get THAT?", just say; "Oh THIS old thing? I've had that in its case for awhile and just wanted to see if it still worked :D ".

22+ years of marriage (not quite as many flight cases) and counting...(on both).

Actually, it went pretty well, I just wheeled it in. I gotta stop shopping though, too much good gear out there this time of year.

I am quite pleased with the Hiwatt bottom. The new/old Marshall straight I got has the G12H65 in it, not tops on the Celestion list. I prefer my Scumback loaded 4x12's to the Celestions, but I must find more Hiwatts with old Fanes in 'em.

I hear ya! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the same.

BTW, some of the Marshall guys really like those Celestion 65's. I've used a single G12H-80 and like it, but haven't played through the 65's. If you ever want to get rid of them or trade for something (non-Fane, of course ;) ), let me know.
