Info and rating for this Fane thanks

Hi,
I am new to this really informative site.
I have obtained a Fane in reasonable condition, which I am hoping to pair to build a 2x12, but I do not know anything about it as I haven't seen one similar.
I appears to be pressed steel, the date code is 45/73 and cone code is 1021/11. It is rated 16 ohms and model number is 122485.
The dust cap has a mini cone surrounding it. Can any one help with model and wattage.
Thanks

That most likely came from a Selmer PA speaker. Definitely not HIWATT related.
That type of cone is a "Whizzer cone". Whizzer cones were used in PA speakers and don't handle distorted guitar sounds.
I can guess with a fairly high percentage of confidence that it is between 40-50 watts.

Thanks,
Just as well I didn't pay very much for it then. I'll build it into a 1x12 and see what it sounds like with my keyboards or acoustic guitar then... and keep looking for a pair of speakers.
What if I reconed it without the whizzer cone?

Try that first, as that's the original purpose for that speaker.
I have heard of folks cutting off the whizzer portion (carefully, with an Xacto knife), but I'd bet the end result is still a compromise. Still, that'd be something to try before sending it off for reconing. Other than having the whizzer, I don't know how the 011 cone varied from the 015 or 003.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've done some reading on whizzers now and noticed the knife trick. I also notice that some people actually like the guitar sound from whizzers, but like you guys most say "horrible" at best. I will update.
Incidentally am I the only person that noticed the Hiwatt 122422 that was on Ebay and then pulled by the seller at the last minute a few days ago. I presume because they suddenly realised what they had up for sale and the bidding was very low, or sold elsewhaere. Seller said he had 3 of them. I have emailed him but as yet no reply. Seems to be a "general dealer" across many areas not a guitar player.

I was the high bidder on the 122142 on ebay. The sellers can't see the maximum bid, only the current bid. I had bid it to win it. I will be very surprised if he sold it for more than I had bid.
By the way, Welcome to the Vintage HIWATT forum!

Ah, that explains it. Some of us are braver than others when it comes to transcontinental shipping (and you know who you are
).
