Re: EX NODDY RIG ON EBAY RIGHT NOW!

i believe stu_r is selling it I was - I sold it to the guy who now has it up. Huge gesture on his part to send half of the proceeds to the DSA charity. wow hope they dont turn it up to loud and blow the cab up! I used to stack it with a Marshall 2x15, the new owner has been advised that the Hiwatt ...

Re: Ex Noddy Holder DR201 in Australia??

I assume you've seen this. Went up today. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NODDY-HOLDERS-ORIGINAL-HIWATT-200-WATT-HYLIGHT-AMPLIFIER-HEAD-FROM-SLADE-/161175925330?pt=UK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL&hash=item2586d57252 Yeah, I saw it - it used to be mine up until last weekend. Really nice gesture by the s...

Ex Noddy Holder DR201 in Australia??

7369 - DR201 - 4-KT88 - Hylight 4-input, Believed to be another Noddy Holder DR201. Has NOD faintly stencilled on top of amp and has the D.I. and slave mods on two of the outputs as per your images. Imported to Australia in 2008. AU I'd be interested to hear more about this amp if the owner is on he...

Is this as an alternative to "exporting" them from Italy?

"No reserve" and "reserve not met" - you don't often see that in the same advert.

Re: SE2150

Stu, we can try that next month at the VHC. I will not have any old hiwatt gear this weekend. That would be good, & interesting to see. In my 201's previous life it always ran with a 100w on top too - and between them they ran 4 x 4122 cabs. A friend of mine owns the back-up amp to it & we ...

Re: SE2150

Stick a 4122 on top of a 2150 - and then a DR201 - That would be a MAN's stack!!!!!!!  I don't know, I like the classic double stack: Four 4x12s and a 201. :D :D :D --mark We'll have to try that this weekend! If you get the chance I'd love to see a side by side comparison as to the...

Re: Britannia row Hiwatt Ebay

For that kind of money I'd want "Dave Front" to personally deliver it & use it in my living room - that's the kind of provenance I'd be looking for.

Re: DR201

Any clue what the extra switch to the left does? In the 70's he also added 2 fans to the back mesh/cage that can come off, not screwed into the head case or anything, but he added a switch for it on the back of the chassis. Ahaa! I just had a thought that it looked like a mains switch should do, so...

My 200 just has a rubber cap there to seal the hole, I always assumed it was for a Canadian hard-wire fix.

Re: Moving on a 201?

Because of the massive transformers on Hiwatts, I have put either rigid foam or heavily wadded bubble wrap between transformers and the inside walls of the case. Still not bullet-proof, but the amps I've shipped to date have arrived safely (knock on wood). Dave Ew... Shipping nightmares.... Ouch!!!...

Re: Moving on a 201?

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I'm prepared to wait for the long haul for the right buyer - rather than risk the Ebay route. I was just looking for endorsement that it was a reasonable deal. Point taken Mark - and thanks for the reminder. As I said, I've sent two valve amps overseas. One was a Vamp ...

Moving on a 201?

I know I've spoken about this here for a while; apologies if you're fed up of hearing about it, but I've come to a cold realisation that my DR201 won't be needed anytime in the forseeable - and it's a damn shame to know it should be a gigging amp. I've already sold on it's matching 4122 cab to a pro...

Re: Standby switch makes a *pop* sound

Maybe it was just the computer I was using. :?: In any case, the standby wiring looks completely normal, so that's not the problem. I have heard of a case where the switch itself was the problem, but I'd hate to replace an original switch on a hope, and tacking in a replacement in parallel to test ...
