Re: SA212 1975 project
The 1M5 resistor was originally 1M. I'm not sure why one would change that :?: unless the modder empirically determined that the change in voltage made for more clean headroom. Thanks Mark, yes the 1M5 was added for more clean headroom as there was a distorted sine wave being produced with the 1M i...

Re: SA212 1975 project
Thought I would give you a quick update guys. I received the amp back off my local tech over a week ago now and I have been playing it through a 2 x 12 WEM loaded with the Purple fanes. (damned nice it sounds too!) Still lots to do in terms of recap etc but I thought you might like to see a mod that...

Re: SA212 1975 project
Ha! Ok... ok... I hear you both. I will leave the insides and the smokey tone well alone.. ;-) In the great scheme of things I know this isn't important... but I would like to buy the correct replacement carry handle, two chicken head knobs, chassis securing bolts and a replacement rear lower panel....

Re: SA212 1975 project
Thanks teethdream. The Tolex I can hopefully clean up without too much effort and I have some suggestions to help clean off the grille cloth but I could do with some advice regarding cleaning of the internal wiring and components please guys. After many years of being in a smokey environment everyth...

Re: SA212 1975 project
Will do Dave. :-) It's been stripped back to a bare shell at the moment. Drivers have been cleaned very gently and I have a small hole in one of them that needs a repair before I test them. The whole cab including the grille cloth needs a good clean and some glue repair to the Tolex. ie... Lots of c...

Re: SA212 1975 project
Yes, its a great shame about the valves... But some you win and some you lose I suppose. :( Its on the bench of my local tech at the moment to see how safe it actually is.... I would not have dreamt of switching it on. (If the transformer looks scary to you Mark, can you imagine what it looked like ...

Fane Wattage?
I have a pair of 12" Fane's in my Roost 50w combo. Both have metal domes are marked 16ohm, 12570, 47/76 and both are dated 1977 according to the frame markings. What is the likelihood of these being rated higher than 25 / 30w please gents? http://s1091.photobucket.com/user/molissy1/slideshow/Fane

Re: easy diy speaker repair
Hi, sorry to drag up such an old thread guys, but can I ask how relevant this process is today please?
I am only asking as I have a Crescendo with two tears in the cone and wondered if I could still use this guide to help repair it?
Many thanks.

Re: 2 x 10" 1980's Crescendo 10/60E 60W 8ohm
Hmm, well, one has water damage so will need some sort of repair before use it and I am not sure what to try the other one in TBH...Maybe a separate cab or a replacement for the large RA50??? Or use the ext speaker connection on the 50 to a seperate cab??? Bought on a complete whim and I am now lost...

Hello gents, hope everyone is well. I managed to buy these the other day and now they have been delivered I am not sure if they can be used for guitar or not? Any advice would be greatly appreciated please. (thank you in advance) http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/philm0l/fane/IMG_0010_zp...
