LOL! Well, I am not rich, I just have seriously misplaced priorities!
Damn, my Bogner is 8 ohms... My Marshall is 16 tho...
Hmm, that is making sense, I am going to give it a shot!

Oi, dare I ask...... KT88's in my 504?
In my quest for a tad more headroom/whomp/footprint, would this work and has anybody experimented with the sound? I am not in to doing any invasive component mods for this though..
Thanks

Re: New here and here is my old 504 and 4-12
Heh, I have not dared to run them all at once. I am but mere mortal and will have nothing to do with mucking with the time/space continuum.... A couple of those amps have been sold/traded. I reallh have no use for amps lower than 50 watts these days. Save for the fact that I do have one small amp wh...

Thanks for the input and beta! I will give that tube swap a go. The amp was owned by a producer at Sentience Studio for many, many years. Any new work is a result of component maintenance only.

Re: Yet another slut looking for an early '70's 103.
Hey, It is a '73 that is absolutely pristine. I love the amp. I am not really looking for more volume, I am looking for more headroom and a slightly bigger sonic footprint. I have a thread up with my amp in the Hylight section http://www.vintagehiwattconvention.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=525 ...

Re: New here and here is my old 504 and 4-12
The Motherload is a unit that is to be used in conjunction with this attenuator. The line out on the attenuator is very hot, which is what the Motherload was designed for. I just sold it. It was the most transparent unit that I have ever used and was very happy with it. The problem is that with my 5...

Yet another slut looking for an early '70's 103.
I LOVE my 504 to death. I am finding that for some of the more psycobilly songs in our set [original music, old school punk/'77 style] I need more clean headroom. I am running my 504 with the master full up and the volumes at about 1/2 way up. I love the crunch, but I need more clean spank. Yes, I d...

Thanks! That is a newer issue Greco/Zemaitis. I am not much of a Strat player, so this takes care of that jones for me. I have Lace Chrome Domes in there now. They respond/sound much more articulate than the stock Dimarzios. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y175/M_E113123/GEAR/DSC08870.jpg http://i5...

Re: New here and here is my old 504 and 4-12
You know, I am really stoked to have current stewardship of this 50 watter. It is as clean as I have ever seen an old amp and it sounds fantastic! The headroom is just perfect for this loud band. I get to let the amp breathe. That said, I would love to pick up a 100 watter as well. A music store in ...

Re: New here and here is my old 504 and 4-12
Thanks guys! I am in Santa Cruz, CA. Before our dang singer left for San Diego, we gigged in our local area at the venues that still allow loud, ruckus music. I will drag this rig around till I am too old to do so. We have been in rehearsals as a trio and interveiwing potential singers for about 4 m...

New here and here is my old 504 and 4-12
Hey all. Wanted to say hello post a couple of pic's of my amp. '73 DR504 and '72 cab with cast Fanes. All original speakers and it sounds glorious! I use this rig in my old school punk band. We play original music in the vein of old school and '77. I get to run this amp with the master full up and t...
