1972 Hiwatt DR103 Video Demo (Pre and Master on 10!)
Took some time this weekend to demo my '72 DR103 through a 1978 Fane Loaded Hiwatt cab (fane 125161 code speakers).
I was trying to think what would be the most fun video, and I figured pegging the preamp volume AND master volume to max would do the trick!
Here you go!

And I recognize that attenuator...

You can almost feel the current flowing
You can almost see the circuits blowing

Nothin' quite like a dimed Hiwatt.

P.S. Stock pickups in the Les Paul?
Re: 1972 Hiwatt DR103 Video Demo (Pre and Master on 10!)
Not exactly stock... but they are 1978 Dimarzio Super Distortions... So they are close enough to stock considering the pickups are only 7 years newer then the guitar.

Well, that device sitting on top of the DR103 looks a whole lot like one of my Faustine Phantoms...Bossco wrote:Please share the details of your recognition with the class sir.

I'm using DrZ Airbrakes. Never have had a chance to try a Faustine Phantom DX or DX2.

Hadn't heard that - a sad story, but (unfortunately) not uncommon. Too bad, they are really solid, "nearly" transparent units.Dr.HIWATT wrote:You will have to find one used.
Mine were part of the third run, waited over a year for them.
edit: I see somebody is looking to recoup their investment (x2) on ebay.
