The earliest I know of is a 1972, but there may be a 1971 out there.

Re: Wanted HIWATT DR201 1969
Hi Mantarino,
I saw your post when I was checking out this site a few days ago. Interestingly enough, I have just this past week been thinking about selling my 1969 DR201 but haven't considered yet how I'd be going about it at this point. Ebay is the most likely place, but I'm not sure yet.
Mine is the earliest 201 listed on Mark Huss's registry page - #462. http://hiwatt.org/RegAmps01.php. From my understanding there were very few 201's made in those first couple of years, and each were individual specific custom orders for people - as opposed to being produced first then sold. This would be why you've had so much trouble finding one. There's really not that many out there. I hadn't considered selling mine prior to this, and to be honest didn't think I ever actually would. I'm still not even 100% sure it's a good idea!
The previous owner to me was the guitarist from a well known band in Australia called the Hoodoo Gurus (moreso in the 80's), but I was told it was mainly used by their bass player in terms of actual playing. He owned it for many many years - since the 80's sometime I think - and had brought it over to Australia himself from the UK originally. In any case, it has been a working amp and serviced professionally at various points along the way. I play/ed shoegaze guitar, synths and bass guitar through it myself, along with an SE-4129 cab. Both could handle pretty much any frequency or volume you wanted to put through them. My most recent service was about a year and a half ago, and it was followed in close detail to the original specs as much as possible, with a few resistor values corrected back to spec here and there. It has the original Partridge transformers still in place, with only cap and resistors replacements, and possibly pots from the looks of it. I have barely used the amp since that last service though.
I also own a 1970 DR103 that was discussed on here awhile back also in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1297. I haven't put that one into the registry yet though. Previously to that one, I had owned a 1972 DR103 - but I preferred the darker sound of the earlier tone design as also occurs in my 201. So I picked up the 1970 103 from Angel Music Guitars in the UK to use in a second practice space so that I didn't have to constantly move my tanks back and forth... The '72 head I sold a couple of years ago.
Anyway, if this is still something you are looking for - feel free to contact me on here. To be honest, I'd only really be looking at a very strong offer at this point. They are exceptionally hard to find, and if it's not worth my while then it definitely isn't something I'd want to sell. I'm basically just looking into possible venues to list it at this stage - to see what interest there might be. An auction house may be the best option anyway. I looked at this site a few years ago, and decided to check back and join up.
Also, I'm in Australia - so I'm not at all sure how any type of international shipping might be organised on something of this size and weight... I use ebay alot, but I've never shipped an amp head overseas. I do have a roadcase that could be refitted with foam for shipping. You can check out my ebay profile at: http://www.ebay.com/sch/little_blackbird/m.html. I've been trading on there for over ten years and sent stuff all over the world - mainly rare guitar pedals.
Thanks,
Ash
Here's a couple of pics to start with. I'd be happy to post more detailed internal shots on here to have evaluated by the mods and more experienced members also.
