Re: Standby switch makes a *pop* sound
Thanks for all the replies everyone! I've contacted the previous owner and he said his tech said it is likely the switch when he owned it. So I guess I should try to track down a NOS replacement for it and maybe start there

Mine has recently replaced Arrow NOS mains and standby switches from VHR, and it still pops.teethdream wrote:So I guess I should try to track down a NOS replacement for it and maybe start there
Since mine has not had a cap job, I assumed that was the issue?

I have seen lots of them that pop a little.
A big pop may be an issue

I would expect at least some popping, since you're connecting the 700v B+ to the output section all in one go, but it should not be excessive. The OT and inductor should slow the inrush of current a bit.

Everything seems to be operating as normal other than the pop... and it seems like the amp needs to warm up a bit before it will do it.. I just can't figure it out
