Sorry, the offer was taken away from the site very quickly, maybe the price was too low at € 400,00. However, here it is again at € 600,00:

If that was in Berlin, Texas I'd jump all over it. But the shipping from Germany to Texas would be, well impressive to say the least. And I just don't even trust quality shipping companies anymore especially with amps or speaker boxes. Got a 4123 from GB back in 2000 on a pallet and all went well but that was then and this is now.

Re: SE4123 Cabzilla!

Post by Fanedango »

Have you noticed the sizes: BHT (Width x Height x Depth): 86 x 88 x 46cm equals 33 7/8 inches x 34 5/8 inches x 18 1/8 inches.
A normal/standard '74 SE4123 is 76 x 76 x 33 cm or 30 x 30 x 13 inches.

The height can't be explained with wheels either: I clearly see skids. But if the dimensions the seller states are correct: this cab is HUUUUGE!
He does say it's a Hiwatt Custom Rarity.... I wonder what the story is. Would anyone be able to tell us?

I'd be curious what it would sound like if I were to swap the present speakers (122231's I presume) for crescendos (temporarily of course, just as an experiment: no crucifixion required). Huge cab: huge sound?

sorry to be a buzz kill, but it is a standard SE4123. The seller has made a mistake with the dimensions.

the badge to cab proportions are correct for a standard SE4123.

Perhaps he's referring to the shipping dimensions?

I also think it's a mistake with the dimensions. Just send him a mail to check.

Sent an email yesterday. Reason: ze Chairmans rarely make mistakes with facts and figures.
So there's only one way to find out. No reply yet.
Update: the seller has adjusted the dimensions to a standard 30x30x13inches. Note to self: get a life!

The plot thickens dear Watson: it's a smaller badge! THAT's what makes it a "Custom Rarity"....
