Fane Crescendo Bass??

Post by tomb11112 »

Hi all,

I've just managed to aquire a pair of these (pics to follow) along with some 12a's in some old PA cabs.

Label for the bass says thus:
Type - 12 Bass
Coil Dia - 3"
Flux Dens - 15,000
Power - 100w

How useful are these in comparrison to the 12A's?

I already have one 12A in a marshall 1936 cab with a celestion g12t75.
I plan on putting the new 12a's into a WEM super dual 12 I have that has no speakers.

no idea of what to do with the 12 bass speakers. I may end up selling them - are they very useful for guitar?

Only one way to find out.... ;)

Sometimes, the mellower highs of a bass cone can be an advantage - sometimes, bass cones can be a bit sluggish to respond to quick guitar playing.

Try 'em and let us know.

Will do.

The pic I have shows these as having the paper dust cap.
I've heard a rumour that DG changed to these at a later point - would that just be a 12a with a paper cap (do they exist?) or maybe he swapped to the bass crescendos?
