Well gents, I am now the proud owner of a '74 DR103!
This is my firts time owning a vintage Hiwatt, and I spent a long time waiting for an early - Gilmour era DR103!
Recently revalved with EH output valves and the PI has been changed to an ecc83, but it has been PAT tested.
Caps will require changing and will require a general clean and de-dust all round!
Behold my newly acquired 1974 DR103.
Recognise the signature?
1973 pots
Baby and the Daddy!Note the Crescendo in the left hand side of the 2x12!
It has been in a shed for a while so needs a good clean, but the seller did take it to a tech who replaced the output tubes to EH and put it through a PAT test. Caps will be replaced and the PI is currently a ECC83 - I will order an 81 soon.
Not had much of a chance to play yet - thats tomorrows job!

Re: New DR103 Day
Big congrats on your first vintage HIWATT !!
I acquired my first 4-input Hiwatt last month; a ' 75 DR201 - it also has the cutdown serial number tag like yours .
I had a ' 78 2-input DR103 that I sold in 2006, and had been getting by with an ' 82 Biacrown 50 until last fall when I picked
up another '82 Biacrown; an OL103 which I actually like quite a lot .
But, I started thinking about getting a proper 4-input amp and was torn between a getting 103 and a 201 w/ KT88s .
After some months of deliberating I went for the 201, and it's been love from the first note[s].
Check this out --
I ordered it on 6/18 ,, and when it arrived I pulled the chassis to look everything over - circuit, pot codes, trannies, etc. and the inspection
sticker is dated ---- 6/19/75
Obviously ,,it was fate that I got this particular amp

Thanks guys!
I am really happy with the one I landed with.
Spent the morning cleaning it. Got to order some replacement tubes for it and some new caps.
Even as is it sounds lovely, though a little poppy at times (as in, making pop noises).
I do feel for poor Clayton - I sent him so many emails hoping to secure the right one! A few other came close, but this one came at the right time and place!
Thank you for your advice, guidance, wisdom and most of all patience with me!
Congrats on your DR201 Raw! Never tried one of those. Cant wait to get to crank mine up properly!! Walls will be shaking!!

Hi Tom,
The old man is very pleased for you. Can't wait till GGF DGBJ 2014 to hear it live and compare with the old Biacrown. All you need now is a Floyd tibute band that needs a great guitarist in your neck of the woods, or just form one.
