Hello!
I've got two new, old FANE speakers. Need some work to do again. They are are numbered as 122326, made in 50/77, conecode 010003. Are these FANE Crescendos?

Re: Is this a Crescendo Speaker?
Hi Doc, thank you again for quick support! Is it a 'A' modell or anything else? I'm just on the way to screw one of them into a cab to check how it sounds....

I have a quad of those exact speakers, and mine are stamped "A".
I believe yours are "A"s as well.

Re: Is this a Crescendo Speaker?
Thank you! The speakers wasn't advertised as Crescendos but look very similar to me. Tried out one in my 65 VOX supertwin cabinent yesterday. Only connected the Crescendo and left inside the Bulldog unconnected (so it works like a passive radiator). I'd expected it would be much louder because of its 20000 Gauss instead the 17000 of my 122142 Fanes, but it wasn't. Maybe because the 122142 are into a 4x12 4122 cabinet. 4 against 1 is not fair....
I've tried before 2 of the 122142 in the same VOX cab and it sounds boxy. The one Crescendo with the passive radiation sounds verry well and surprisingly equal to the Hiwatt 4122. I think the reason is the volume wich is at about 65 liters netto. It seems this volume is well for one of them. Maybe only one of the 122142 would have sound good as well. To use both Crecendos i have to look for an oversized cabinet. I noticed the older one Hayden Mofo 212 cabinet. At 530 x 760 x 355mm (20.9 x 30 x 14 inces) it seems nice sized (about 110 liters netto). And its made from 18mm plywood so it should be solid enough. Does anyone know the recommended volumes for 122142 and 122326 speakers?

Re: Is this a Crescendo Speaker?
Cabinet volume for the 122326 is 3200 cubic inches = 52.5 litres for a single speaker.
For two it's less than double that, but exactly how much less unfortunately I do not know.

Re: Is this a Crescendo Speaker?
there never was a published recommended volume for the 122142, as it was an oem speaker just for the original Hylight Electronics.
You could safely estimate one based on the volume of an SE4122 cab, and be reasonably close.
