Britannia row Hiwatt Ebay
OK what do you all know about this amp, apart from 1968 and "special circuitry" being bunkum. Dates to 72/73 or 73/74 depending on which of the 2 serial numbers you believe, and I think a cap might say 73. It was my understanding this amp is genuine. Drop a zero and the old man might even buy it.
It is my understanding that apart from the channel linking, bulgin swap and ground lift Pete Cornish did no other mods.
The seller slips in the odd special guitar.
What say you? as if I do not know

For that kind of money I'd want "Dave Front" to personally deliver it & use it in my living room - that's the kind of provenance I'd be looking for.

Another interesting point about this amp. AmpFactory state that this amp was used to create a set of profiles for the Kemper modeling amp. They state it was used on the Wall, and that it is a 1970. The guy who runs amp factory Andy says that he has played DGs rig, he also makes the following statement on his forum which made me laugh, maybe wrongly. I don't know.
"well pack one is a HiWatt custom 100, and pack 2 is a 103, main differences are the EQ controls and how they interact with the poweramp, however if Floyd is your thing then Floyd nuts have enjoyed both.. so Its hard for me to answer that.. - there is a 25% december sale on currently, so maybe make use f that "

Too many reasons (at least 30,000 of them) to be skeptical of an offering like that.
There are some well documented pictures of Gilmour's Hiwatt heads and certain details don't jive with that auction.
Someone with more money than brains will probably come along and drive a hard bargain at half the listed price (which will still be far too much, IMHO).

That'd be what we conspiracy theorists call a "smoking gun" .ak-47 wrote:Urm.. This amp seems to be located on ebay listings in both texas and doncaster (!) simultaneously..

Is this as an alternative to "exporting" them from Italy?

Re: Britannia row Hiwatt Ebay
correct me if i'm wrong, PLEASE, but if this really is a '68 would it not be a D-R wired amp? the innards dont look the part....
evilBay "authentic" P.F. amp...
and what i know as a Dave Reeves wire job, where the wires come up and solder to the top of the turret board...

Re: Britannia row Hiwatt Ebay
Yep, and wiring aside; the given (yet questionable) serial numbers put it well and truly into the 70's. Other component dates might tell a different story too..
