It'd be nice to see some gut shots, just to make sure the circuitry hasn't been messed with. But, it looks straight from the existing pictures.

I informed the seller that it was a '74, and requested pics of the wiring..........several days ago.

still waiting

atleast there are no extra holes in the chassis....but I like to see the wiring before buying.

Hmmm..... Have you heard back yet? I'd love to talk my guitarist into getting that amp, but I'm sure he doesn't have the bucks!

I realize it's a bit early, what with the Convention weeks away and all, but that reminded me of one of my favorite Musician jokes:

At least we now know where to obtain the proper caps ;) .

Other than the above, does that amp look pretty straight to you?

the switches are not original and the indicator lamp looks to be connected with Wire Nuts!

Rectifier diodes are not original

Preamp board appears to be untouched. early 1970's circuit.

looks like the MV pot has been replaced. The other pots are RS and original.

power valve bases are original one plate resistor has been replaced (no big deal)

It looks like the nasty axial caps have been epoxied to the chassis. maybe it is silicon??? It looks awfully shiney to be silicone though. I wonder how hard that will be to clean up?

Good eye, Dr. Hiwatt!

Guess there's more than a couple of things required to set that one back to original :( .

We use 'em all the time! Solder & tape went out decades ago!

Sorry, forgot I wasn't on the Inside Wireman's forum.

The only thing that bothers me about the one from the very end of '74 is the plug in the hole for the optional hardwired mains. It is far to thick to be the original. As long as it is just a different plug then this is fine as it appears very clean in all other regards..

But, since he is unwilling to show the underside.......maybe it is a line out jack or indicative of some mod/mods?????

If the amp is as clean inside as it looks everywhere else, the seller is costing himself atleast $500 by not showing the internals.

If your Iwatt has wire nuts in it, we will make an example of you at the Convention

Wire nuts have a place...........but it isn't in a Vintage Hylight!

I just read the sellers description.......he mentions the MV pot, and screen grid resistor........DOH! I could have read that instead of closely examining the amp............DOH!

Seems to me the indicator lamp leads were long enough that that they didn't require a splice of any kind... :?

I'm tempted to put some in there just to stir up some controversy.
