An Issue that need to be resolved

Hello,

I have an issue with my vintage 1974 DR103, when I turn on the mains switch, sometimes, not always, it turns on and immediately off.
If I turn off and on the switch a couple of times, it works.
- Is it bad Mains switch?
- Does it need recap (the amp is still in its very original condition).
- Is it bad contact in tube sockets?
- Nothing of the above?

No, fuses are ok.

They seem 3-way switches, as I can see, they have 3 couples of pads.

I wonder if the old switch nuts match these switches from Hi-tone website:

And maybe is a good chance to do a recap in the amp. All of the Can capacitors have a bulge sign, they need replace, don't they?
I would like to keep the amp as original as I can but I think the recap is mandatoty..


One last question, the Hi-tone recap kit as I can see in the picture, has 3x F&T at 385VDC, 1x F&T at 500VDC and 1xARS at 500VDC.
My Hiwatt has 3x RS at 350VDC, I assume that the voltage difference isn't important between the F&T and RS.

I have used those on vintage amps with no issues.

For certain the green one, which has oozed some stuff through the relief bulge. Given the age, replacing all would probably be a good idea.

Higher voltage is actually better, in this case.

No, those are single-pole, single throw switches, the type mostly used by Fender. You want a double-pole single-throw switch, the type with solder terminals on each of the four corners.
