SA212R
What year did Hiwatt start making these amps? Also, were the Fane 122667's able to take both bass and guitar? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just kind of wondering. Been thinking about looking for a Hiwatt combo and the reverb and vibrato aspect sound interesting. Any details would help greatly. Thanks guys!

Re: SA212R
The oldest SA212 I can spot in Mark's Hiwatt Registry ( http://hiwatt.org/RegAmps01.php ) dates to about 1972. The Reverb versions are pretty rare. The earliest one of those I could spot this morning is from 1976.Casey78 wrote:What year did Hiwatt start making these amps?
I'm not familiar with that model number . Anyway, I don't usually thing of bass when I think of open back combo amps.Casey78 wrote:Also, were the Fane 122667's able to take both bass and guitar?
Got any pictures of the amp in question?

Dave,
There is no amp I had in mind when asking. I was looking at the M. Huss Hiwatt page under catalogs http://hiwatt.org/info/78cat/page06.jpg when I saw the SA212R's. So I looked back through the forum and didn't see much info for them. According to the catalog the loudspeakers are 122667, which I know absolutely nothing about. I have never seen a real Fane, other than the pictures here.

Oh yeah, I see that now . Guess that was a higher power model for the 100 watt combos (again, pretty rare).Casey78 wrote: According to the catalog the loudspeakers are 122667, which I know absolutely nothing about.
If you do happen to run across one, snag it up. There are more of the 50 watt non-reverb SA212's around, if you don't need those extras.

I have one of the later 100 watt 212R amps, I don't recall the speaker number offhand, but they must be pretty sturdy since it still looks like the speakers and cones are original.
