Large can electrolytics

Post by thefatcyclist »

Hi, My dad was telling me there appears to be a shortage of 220uF 385V electolytics over hear in Europe, none of the usual suppliers have any, although it is possible that The British Vintage Wireless Society have ordered a bulk quantity via Audiocap.co.uk.

What is the situation over the pond??

There was a time when the 220uf caps were difficult to locate in the proper diameter. And, as I recall, F&T had a shortage of all 220uf's awhile back.

As far as I know, they're available - though probably in the 450v rating (nothing wrong with going higher on the voltage spec).

Thanks as always,
Tube amp doctor only has 350Volts.

Mundorf are F and T's partners for audio caps and they are out of stock and only manufacture in quantities of 144 and 8 weeks delivery time.

c3amps.com have them Stateside.

The 350v version is fine for 504s and 103s.
