DR 106 output tap question

Hi. Mr Lazyboy here.

I've seen a couple of interesting looking 16 ohm speakers cabs I'd like to try with my DR 106.

I recall there is no 16 ohm tap on the 106.

Is there one hidden inside, like on the old !blasphemy! amps?

My word. Those amps I drove hard in the late 60s from the Northwest USA are automatically changed to !blasphemy! ?

AFAIK, the output amps and transformers were the same on all of the amps of a given wattage and time period, so I'd be surprised if the 106 OT did not have a 16 ohm tap. It would almost never be used in the original application, of course (who used one PA cabinet?)

Thanks Doc! I saw one schematic which hinted that was the case, but I do not trust my meager knowledge or judgment when it comes to that amp.

As to the other issue, I'd put an auto-change on that newish Italian amp brand pushed by GC. Something like ... well, never mind, given that this is a family-friendly forum!

Anecdotally supporting that theory: The SA212 I once owned had its 16 ohm leads connected to the EXT speaker jack, the 8 ohm leads hardwired to the two internal speakers and the 4 ohm tap's ground attached to a chassis lug, with the positive lead disconnected.
