2009 Convention dates - VOTE NOW!
NEW: PLEASE VOTE IN OUR POLL
It is time to determine the date for next year.
Late June usually works for me.
Mid-late September is good too.
I am pretty flexible, so bring on some choices!
What works for you Convention Veterans?????

I'm taking my bride somewhere nice for our 25th the last week of June - first week of July... any other time of the year would be ok.

Re: 2009 Convention dates.
Get your priorities straight, man ! Colette and I are one year behind you. Let me know if you find any super-special place to observe a 25th. Otherwise, we'll just have to "settle" for Mexico (again) .mikhailwatt wrote:I'm taking my bride somewhere nice for our 25th the last week of June - first week of July...
Later September might be good. That way, it doesn't compete with family reunions, etc..

Dave,
maybe we could add a poll to this thread with 3-4 weekends to choose from?

I'd prefer late June again. That would also be the easiest for Keith. Anything really close to July 4th is out for me as I'll be in NYC for three weeks every July.

Bad weekends for me:
6/27, 7/4, 7/11
8/14, 8/21
September looks generally good...

Re: 2009 Convention dates.
Dave, how about a poll with the options:
Mid May '09
Mid June '09
Mid Sept. '09
Early October '09
I don't have a calendar in front of me so I don't have the exact dates, but I think the idea is clear and the dates can be added soon.

I checked the calendar and added dates in those ranges. Let me know if you want any of them edited or more additions made.Dr.HIWATT wrote:Dave, how about a poll with the options:

You know, if we're not careful we'll have seventeen people (at least half of whom have no intention of coming to the convention under any circumstances, yet they feel "cool" thinking they can influence things) suggest seventeen different weekends. The ideal thing would be to offer two weekends and let folks choose from that. What's the worst thing that can happen? Some folks won't be able to make it. Under no circumstances can we make everyone happy (and that includes Keith and I--if the convention falls on a "bad" weekend, we just won't come. It's really that simple. The dates I mentioned in an earlier post remain the best time for us, but if for some reason those dates don't work out, well....we won't gripe about it).
By the way, I don't know if Keith's vote counts, but he also told me to tell you he wants the June date.
But it's whatever works out best for you, Clayton!

You are right Mike. Every year there has been a couple of people that can't make it that date.
Maybe we should eliminate the May and October choices???????
How about it Dave?

The HIWATT Rhythm Section HAS to be there. Non-negotiable. End of discussion.
I voted for September, but all of those dates should work for me.

Keep in mind that each IP address can only cast two votes, so things won't likely get as out-of-hand as MikeB's nightmare scenario .
P.S. Autodesk is moving their Autodesk University from right after Thanksgiving to sometime in June for 2009 and beyond. I don't know the exact dates yet, but am committed to speak there. As soon as I know, I'll vote (as I did this morning, in today's Primary Election).
