This one followed me home from Vancouver last weekend.
Haven't had a chance to fire it up at home yet, or do any clean up or de-modding, but it sounded nice and HIWATT-ey when I tried it, albeit with a bit more gain than my '103.

Note one output valve base recently replaced... needs a vintage-correct base
Recently re-capped & re-tubed... needs some good NOS glass and a proper bias mod
Note 120v mod terminal strip - that might go away

I know, it's a shame they didn't drop the heat shield at the same time! There is absolutely no need for it with all the cap cans inside (unless you *like* forcing people to remove the chassis to change preamp tubes! ).
Got curious to see what brand/rating was used when it was re-capped. Well, shiver me timbers! Those are honest-to-goodness UK LCRs. OEM specs, no less... including a 16uF+32uF.

No problems - our studio/rehearsal room is on the third floor, and we have some space between us and the neighbors... my son's band has hit 117dB up there - they use earplugs.
Haven't had a chance to really crank the "Twins" yet.
I can tell you, though, that the '504 sounds very "classic" now after the de-mod/de-fizz procedures.

Hmmm... the previous tech with his paralleled bias resistor scheme had the thing biased down to about 12mA! Playing it safe, I guess?
Anyway, removing the superfluous resistors got it back up to a respectable 38mA or so. With some good NOS glass in there it sounds great! Less loud than my '103, for sure...
