It needs some TLC, but an extended stay at HIWATT Valley should do the trick!

Any idea how many (original) CP's were produced?

I got it today!

What an interesting beast!

The transformer date to 1969. Pots date to the 23rd and 24th week of 1969. Electrolytic caps date to 17th and 19th week of 1969.

I hope to get some pics up tonight or tomorrow!

 :D Let's see some pics! Are the mods going to be very hard to reverse? Have you plugged it in yet? Or are you waiting to bring it back to its true CP-103 status? Well Done. :D

I began gutting the mods without firing it up. It had a presence, middle and higher gain channel added at the expense of two of the existing channels...........

I will get some pics up later today.

Ok here are some pics with most of the modifications removed. The poor amp had been really mucked up. All four input jacks had been replaced with three switchcrafts and a potentiometer! The mains had been mucked up and the voltage selector bypassed so that the amp was wired for 115v only. Some of that is still evident in these pics, but I will set it back to original.....nothing else was an option!

Looks like it is coming along really well Dr. Hiwatt. I thought that looked like a fun project when I saw that amp on the bay. I guess you really are the Dr. bringing back to life sick and endangered HIWATTS :D

Here is an update: After taking a day away from it, I may redo a couple of the wires because I didn't bend them as DR would have. But she is getting closer!

Tch! You just have to do something with those messy wires on the right!

Do you have any black waxed lacing cord in the VHR workshop?

I am not done yet! But it is tough trying to make that old wire look nice and tidy when it has been bent to hell and back.

These are just work on progress pics...........take a look at what I started with.....that was Ickey!
