Why did I ever sell my SG :( ?

Post by OldSchoolDave »

Dangitall - palladia is running Woodstock today (nothing else is on and, besides, I'm an old hippie anyway) and I just watched Santana's Soul Sacrifice performance. If I knew it before, I'd forgotten that my SG was just like the one Carlos was playing that day.

Dangitall - why did I ever sell that thing? Oh, yeah, I was young and broke - that's why.

I've sold two guitars in my life and regret both those transactions :( . They served important purposes at the time, but DANGITALL!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent,
Dave

P.S. Mikhailwatt, no fair busting me for the Solid State amp - I was too young to know better. On the bright side, it did have built-in fuzz  .

P.P.S. Stumbled across a pic showing BOTH guitars that got away (sigh, my '56 Gold-all-around LP and my SG...still have the '62 Strat). At least I was using a trusty tube amp (Twin Reverb) by this time:

Note the State-of-the-Art amp stand (a.k.a. Floor Tom case) and guitar stands :) .
...Hey! I played that song when it was new...

I think everyone has a guitar or two (or amp) that they regret letting go.

There is still time to find another!!!!

True. But, I bet it'll cost me more than the $85 I paid for the first one  .

I only ever sold one decent guitar, a Japanese Strat copy.

I still have my first "real" electric, an ES-335 TDW that I bought new in 1973 (yes, I'm old too,). It's sitting in a stand behind me as I type, doing duty as my current "pick up a guitar and play when I feel like it" duty. 8)

Yeah, but we were broke then! Ah, to have today's income and yesterday's prices,
