Re: my new studio amp
Looks good!
I've never owned a tweed. Maybe some day.
6L6's in the power section? What are you going to use for speakers with that?

Re: new studio amp
I've compared the new sozo blue molded caps to ordinary sozos now. the blue molded are clearer and more scooped. it does not have the thick dirty marshall sounds but sounds more - well fenderish. it appears to have tighter bass and possibly more high end
Re: new studio amp
Geez I'd never have guessed blue mold would have helped caps sound better? I would have just thrown them out!Roe wrote:I've compared the new sozo blue molded caps to ordinary sozos now. the blue molded are clearer and more scooped.

Re: new studio amp
In a two channel amp with two pretty similar sounding channels, I changed the caps in one of the channels. the difference was pretty noticableGigawattCustom121 wrote:hey thanks for the info! how did you do the comparison?Roe wrote:I've compared the new sozo blue molded caps to ordinary sozos now. the blue molded are clearer and more scooped. it does not have the thick dirty marshall sounds but sounds more - well fenderish. it appears to have tighter bass and possibly more high end

yes the premiums/vintage sozos are more middy than the standards, but the standards are still have more low mids than the blue molded sozos
