Anyone know of a Stratocaster that's made like that? Thought all Strat bodies were solid slabs of Alder or Ash. Maybe they started out hoping for a Gibson endorsement, but switched horses?

I did enjoy the commercial for T-Mobile's new "Limited Edition Fender" cell phone, but something seemed amiss. Then, it dawned on me. The back, while very pretty, looks like bookmatched flame maple...

I know that in the John Page era (Manager of Fenders Custom Shop ),they've made quite a few Strats with
flamed maple tops!
