Would it be "safe" to have a single 12" speaker with 100W of power behind it? Even 50W seems too much power.

Sure, if it's a 300 watt EV SRO. :twisted:

Most speakers are "not worthy," the main reason you'll find very few 100 watt SA112s with the original speaker in them!

A 50 watter would be fine with a 100 watt speaker.

With the right single 12", it would. An EV or JBL E series (or Eminence Delta Pro) can handle a full out 100 watt Hiwatt.

I tread gently on the single Fane in my SA112.
