My mother would use it as a floor pot,she would make hundreds of small holes
in the cone to put the dry floors in or she would fill up the cone with soil, plant some
real floors and put some water ,the soaked cone would keep the floors very happy .

And I wouId probably......her!!

Note to recipients: heed the warning on the box regarding sharp objects when opening. There are two layers of cardboard between the tape and the cone, but an overzealous box cutter could do some damage .

I had an open house to attend yesterday and we got some severe weather afterwards. Haven't had a chance to fire these babies up . I'll be thinking about them all day, at the office.

EDIT: An unscientific observation: MajorWatt, over on PP, once mentioned how original vintage Hiwatt Fanes made a nice tom-tom sound when one (gently) tapped on the cone. DR-F's do, too .
