fizzy sound (late 70s 504)

Post by thames »

Hello!

Ive heard about that fizzy sound that some late 70s DR504 can exhibit.
Im mostly using my amps clean with dirt boxes in front.
I get an annoying fizzy sound with my main dirt (CM Plexitone) thru my DR504 but not thru my Marshall.

Is it the same fizzy sound that the kit @ VHR could resolve ?

If the pedal is driving the input of the amp (i.e., the level is much higher with the pedal on), this could be the culprit. Having the input volumes maxed -or- having them lower but driving the inputs hard will produce the same phenomenon in this circuit.
