Thanks

The magnet looks like that of a Crescendo. I am not familiar with that particular model.
Do you have more pictures? The surround looks newer than the cone. I'm wondering if some repair has been done to that speaker.
In any case, it's worth further investigation. Be aware, though, that the cast frame Fanes with those heavy magnets are extremely vulnerable to damage in the shipping process (assuming you're looking to buy this from a seller).

Here's 2 more pictures. Looks like there's something one the cone of one speaker, but I don't see much on the inside..

Guess it was just the flash that made the cone appear so much lighter. On the front pics, everything looks to be original.
If the price were right, I would definitely take a chance on those for guitar useage.

the magnets aren't large enough to be Crescendos, but they may be great speakers..

Well I'm not sure whether to get them or not. It's a 2 hour drive to get there, and I have nothing to put them into. It could be a good deal though.
What about that 'patch' on one of the cones? Was it repaired there?

I'm not seeing the patch you refer to. Could you circle it and re-post?

Well I'm not sure what it is, but there's something there.
Any idea how old these speakers are?

that is something written on the cone with a grease pencil.
most old Fanes have something written on them.
