Si, sono stato a Martina Franca due tre volte. e molto bello--mi piace tantissimo quella zona: alberobello, locorotondo. ci sono parenti che hanno una casa nella Selva di Fasano--proprio bellissimo.

Hey everybody! Just want to say hey after finding the site through mhuss's great page.

I went through a pretty serious David Gilmour phase a couple of years ago which led me to a very pristine late era Hylight DR103 (with all original tubes and dust cover!) which is my prized possession - well along with an excellent Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ Series 300 head (one of 86 made!), but this isn't the forum for that!

For fun, I do some guitar tech work, have lost some hearing doing live sound, and build and design audio electronics devices, pedals, racks, interfaces, cables, etc. Drop me a line if you need some help, a custom device, or some really good cables. Recently, I finally finished an AX84 kit and after getting it to work with no troubleshooting(!), I moved on to a 18W Marshall 1x12 combo kit (in progress), and in the very near future a pair of VHR Custom 100 heads. Also, there's about 15 years of guitar playing in there, too.

During the day I waste my time as a structural engineer but what I really want to do is direct...

Yeah, it sucks having to work for a living...gets in the way of doing the stuff you really want to.

I'm Les Davaz. When I was in high school in Germany in the '70's friends and I would travel to London to buy 50's and 100's as they came off the "line". We saw our amps being finished and burned in. Travel and shipping being what it was then, I chose a select 2X12 50-watt combo to bring back to the states as my college amp. It never worked on US power, and I could never find anyone to fix it. Alas, I sold it for $250, nearly new, about $100 less than I paid. I have looked for a HIWATT ever since and never thought I could trust the seller. Oh well, one day. BTW, I love the English , their "stuff" and tinkering. Obviously, Mark Huss is very much in the tradition of that. Our only true allies. Good article in the Financial Times this past Friday about valve radios. I guess we trace the state of the art back to that.

Guess we've all got (at least) one of those "one that got away" stories . Hope you and an authentic Hiwatt can be reunited one day.
