Great influences. Welcome to the Vintage Hiwatt forum, Emil!
It sounds as you and your bass player have a good start for a Vintage Hiwatt Convention Down Under

Hi There,
I'm Fabien from France. I don't remember if I Introduced myself so I do it now...
I bought a wonderful DR103 from '71 some years ago and was lucky enough to find a Hiwatt 4x12 with Simm-Watts FANE which were in fact 122231 FANEs... So I got the perfect Gilmour-in-a-big-box gear... I had tons of effects : '86 export version of the Tube Driver, Fuzz Face, ... My homemade pedal board was then just enormous...
Sadly, I always wanted to have a Plexi so sold everything to a guy that plays in a Pink Floyd cover band...
Some years after, I never could forget this amp + cab sounds, especially with the Green Muff, it was just amazing !!!
Then, I bought a SA212 from '75 but sold it...
Some weeks ago, I was lucky enough to buy a DR504 from '72 totally unmodified. The cosmetics is not good but the electronics is just 100% original... I just recaped it and change the Sovtek power tubes for Silvania Wing =C=...
So I'm back there and really happy !
Cheers,
Fabien

Hello all, my name is Terry and I have loved/used Hiwatts to great effect for more than a few years. Unfortunately, I've had to let go of some really sweet amps in the past for various reasons and am now down to a single DR103. She's a raucus and clean beaut though, from 1973, formerly owned by Web Wilder.
Glad I found this place, thanks for inviting me to play in your sandbox!

Dunno, could be. I acquired it in the mid nineties and it has an extra gain stage added in one of the normal channel inputs which neither of those amps seems to have. Could have been added later after the photo was taken. I'm playing bass through it so I'm considering having the mod reversed.
Oh, thanks for the warm welcome!

Probably isn't, then. That photo was taken for a Vintage Guitar spread in 2005. Guess Webb is still a true believer in the virtues of Hiwatt

I've only built a guitar before. I've been looking at the Reeves Jimmy for a while, but have held off because, it is 50 damned watts! My orange is 25 and I'm sure it could take out the front of my apartment at vol.8.
I don't know very much about amps, but I'm going to get a book or two and build the DR307.
Hopefully I won't kill myself, or worse...

My name is John. I've posted on the site several times but never introduced myself. I have a DR201 and two DR103s, 3 Hiwatt 4x12 cabs and I am also the proud owner of two 2x12 Hi-Tone cabs. My wife has been asking me what is all this stuff taking up so much room. I just try to change the subject.

Just show her a picture of Dr. Hiwatt's amp room, and she will feel blessed.
