Hi my name is Kameron, I'm a poor, married college student who can't afford a vintage HiWatt, I am hoping to make my own someday, I have never played through one before, but after reading about these amps I am thoroughly convinced they are the greatest guitar amplifiers ever made!

Welcome. Kameron!
If you can make it to the convention in June, you probably won't regret it! there will be lots of Vintage HIWATTs and some DIY builds.
Glad you found this place!

Hello Hiwatt-people. I'd love to come to the convention one day but it's quite the trip from Finland so not this year for sure, maybe next!
Well anyway I play bass through a Hiwatt DR203, PA head, and I'm about to start on a DIY "Hiwatt" with a SAP pre-amp and a 2xKT88 poweramp. Just have to borrow some dough from my girlfriend to order the last parts!

Thought I should finally introduce myself and say hi to all the Hiwatt fanatics here. I'm the go to WEM guy on other forums. Don't own any "real" Hiwatt's yet but Mark's got my sound city at the moment giving it a nice overhaul.

I realized I never checked in here. My name is Max. I live in California and own a 1977 two input DR103 and front load Hylight 4x12 (minus Fanes unfortunately). I'm starting a build of a DR103S and plan on following it up with a DR504. These will be my fourth and fifth amp builds, others being a JTM 100 (complete), JTM 45 (final stages), and tweed 5C3 deluxe with octal preamp (building concurrently with the 103S). There's also a 1963/4 transitional 6G6-B bassman in there somewhere.
I like each for their own tone, but my Hiwatt is the only one that does it all each and every time. Gotta love it!

Hi. I am Kenny and located Richmond, VA. Almost collected all the parts for a 103 build. The VHR site was a real blessing for the caps cans. It sure beat getting the 220 cans from England. Anyway, thanks for letting me join.

My name is Joe and i'm an ampaholic.I used to own a '73 DR103 but I had to sell it unfortunately. But I've had parts lying around to build a clone for about 5 years now just haven't gotten around to it yet.
I'm glad there's someone finally selling kits and parts for building HIWATTs.We've been needing this for some time now!
I hope to order a kit soon and finally attend the convention that I couldn't make the last two years.

Hi everyone
I'm Ron and I've been playing a 1977 1x12 Bulldog since about '83. Just read about the two input mod, sounds like just the ticket.

Hi, my name is Toru, living in Okinawa, Japan.
I once owned two HIWATTs -- one was CUSTOM HIWATT 100 of Biacrown era, and the other was CUSTOM HIWATT 50 of Hylight era (which I gave a friend of mine).
Now I own one Sound City 50 Plus which I re-capped and modified the power amp section the same as CUSTOM HIWATT 50, thanks to mhuss's schematic.
And I'm planning to rebuild the HIWATT LEAD 50R into CP504 (CP103's preamp + DR504's power amp), also referring to mhuss's schematics.
Glad to be a menber of this site!
