Cool thread idea... Hope some interesting stories come out of the woodwork! Especially if they can be supported by some photos too!
A friend of mine was a stagehand at Woodstock and can be clearly seen in the film. Freaked me out when I saw it was really him because lots of people 'say they were there' if you know what I mean.. Not so many stories about gear but we all know 'who' was there back stage and the scene he has described to me was really something!

I already posted this in a separate thread but since it fits in here I show it again :
The picture above shows the amp how it looks right now, after I removed some black paint from the front.
It had a technical restoration too - new caps and new tubes - now it serves as my main bass amp in combination with a german custom made tube preamp:
I bought the amp from a german bass player who had it in use in his band for the past 35 years. The amp was originally owned by the Who. I presume it was part of the PA system, but it also could possibly have been used by Entwistle in his bass rig.

from the top...........
......... and with a 4122 cab which was also his.........
........... a friend of mine from Slade's old touring days has what was Nod's back-up amp. It was a 1977 6 x EL34 version. It's predecessor having "blown up" beyond repair during a tour according to Dave Hill, their guitarist. Who also told me how they used cabs among each others back-line rather than wedge monitors to trip over on the stage. They also used huge two 8 x 12" sidefill cabs firing across the stage from the wings.
When an near identical 201 appeared on Ebay a few years ago, Mark was able to largely endorse my belief that it was one of Slade's too, due to the after market rear mods. This was confirmed when I showed Dave Hill pics of it & he recognised it as his. it's now owned by forum user "GodOfThunder" who posted on here about it.
