Hi guys! All the advice and suggestion I've gotten here has been spot on, so I'm back with a new question:
The 100 watt output can be cut in half by removing 2 of the output tubes, and I've seen it mentioned a few times that removing the 2 outside tubes in the DR103 power tube lineup will accomplsh that. Does it have to be the 2 outside tubes? Or - could I remove the 2 center tubes with the same effect?
The reason I ask is because one of my center tube sockets has become somewhat "loose" over time (it's been over 35 years after all...), and I think it's possible that my repeated tube failures in the same location are the result of excessive vibration in transit. It would sure be handy if that was one of the removed tubes.
I'll accept any opinions anyone would like to offer.
Thank you,

Either inner or outer pair works. Remember to re-set your impedance selector if running half the power tubes.bmellott wrote:Does it have to be the 2 outside tubes? Or - could I remove the 2 center tubes with the same effect?
