Finally a Live at Leeds tone that will not leave your ears ringing!
The first off the bench, so fresh it is soaking as I type.

You're doing a great job of carrying on the Dave Reeves legacy.

4 x 12AX7, 1x 12AT7 Our 6V6 power section with massive Hylight style Heyboer iron. Dual bias pots
Based on my 1969 CP103 which just killed every new so called CP amp we ever heard.
Thanks John!

How does this differ sonically from the DG307?

its a bit more bright, slightly scooped and possibly "raw" than the "DG"for lack of better terms.
The DG is a bit more polished sounding.
I hope to get them side by side later this week and then make better comparisons.
Maybe even a side by side comparison with the "JP" , "DG" and CP something simple and straight in.

Sounds pretty good, but IMO lacks a little punch compared to classic Who tones. But I doubt that's the amp, as I built one exactly like it, based on Dr Hiwatt's amp, and it sounds incredible.
What are Mark's settings for that clip? The bass sounds a little mushy - what I've found to sound best (and what Townshend used) was to set the bass quite low, maximum 1/3 up, and treble somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 up. Channel 1 volume maxed, and master to taste. With the guitar straight in this can sound a little piercing, but if you use two coiled cords with a pedal in between (again, like Townshend with his Superfuzz) it sounds just perfect!
