Couple of days ago I bought this black frame Crescendo.

Does anybody know during what period the black frames were produced?
There is no sticker but the model stamped on the frame is 122326. Is this the famous 12A model?
Is the number 10283 a serial number?
Is it possible to date the speaker trough the serial?
If anybody can answer some of this I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Black frame Crescendo
Date codes during that era are a bit tricky, but I'm betting the last two digits indicate a 1983 production.Lemmy wrote: Is the number 10283 a serial number?
For example, I've got three Hiwatt Fanes produced in 1981 - one has a date code of 5815 and the others, 75810000.
If only Fane would have demonstrated some consistency over the years ...

Yeah, I was thinking the same but got even more confused seeing the serial on these:Date codes during that era are a bit tricky, but I'm betting the last two digits indicate a 1983 production.

58047 might be from 1980. but in that case Fane really suffered from acute inconsistency.
the previous owner told me he thinks it is from around 1973. Have they been producing black frames in those years?betting the last two digits indicate a 1983 production
