SA112 Ebay.....confussled

Post by thefatcyclist »

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1974-SA ... 20d9aa0a47

Why would you put a 1980 serial plate onto a 1974-5 SA112?
The actual amp is listed in the Mark Huss directory.
13721 SA112 Hylight 2-input, at a guitar store in Mesa, AZ, Fane Speaker, missing rear panel, speaker plug damaged

Now the rare sa112 from 75/6 was four input this is two. The bulldogs from 77/78 were 2 input.

So unless Dave Reeves or harry joyce had some old 2 holers lyying around back to the future i'm confussled.

If I am reading the cap and transformer codes correctly, it was checked and soaked before the caps and transformers were made.

Oh and the neon is flat square, not domed, but that is maybe right.

I'm sure i've made some mistakes

the seller misread the Q/C decal.
the date is '79, not '74

Yep,
it isn't always a conspiracy or crooked dealer, sometimes just an honest mistake.
But I have never seen a seller guess that an old amp was newer than actual. They usually shoot for late '60s.
