Traffolyte badge variations

Post by shakti »

I recently bought a 1971 SE4122. The Traffolyte badge appears to be original, but is somewhat flimsy and thin, much thinner than the ones on my 1971 DR103 and SE4123. In fact, it looks to be about half the thickness.

I know that Traffolyte badges are available in both 1.5 and 3 mm thickness. But can anyone tell me if the thin ones are original badges, or is this a repro badge that someone has fitted in place of the original?

Thank you! For the record, I am sure the thick ones on my '73 stack are original too. Is there any pattern to when they used the thick or the thin ones?
