New to group
Howdy all....I am new here..I am Joe from LA and have just had a lifelong dream of owning a vintage Hiwatt. It is a beautiful 1974 custom 100. I am having it checked out before I crank it up but I am sure it will be worth the wait!!!! It looks like it just got unpacked from the box!!!! The partridge trannies look great..the wiring is beautiful. I got this amp as it was about to be thrown into the garbage!!!!! They just gave it to me!! Even offered to put it in my car!!! I hope to have it all cleaned up and checked out in a couple of weeks....but for now I am a pleased just to have it sitting in my guitar room looking pretty. I have a Marshall cab I will run it through until I can find a Hiwatt cab. I would love to communicate with any of you out there.

Welcome!
That's an incredible story! Can't imagine someone dumpstering a Hiwatt, but I guess it happens. Good to hear yours had a happy ending.
Keep us posted on your amp's progress.

Congratulations and Welcome!
Re: New to group
It's just as well, that amp is probably in gross violation of RoHS and would only pollute the landfill.
Excellent luck on your part, and I hope it checks out fine and that you're cranking it up soon.

Well......I have double boxed shrinkwrapped and done everything humanly possible to ensure safe shipping and sent my new baby off to be cleaned inspected and totally made ready for world domination!!!! My end goal would be to point my cab toward the moon turn the volume up to about 8 and see if a sustained power chord will shift the moons orbit in such a way as to eliminate the problem of global warming.
