Without a detailed examination, it's hard to be 100% sure, but I'd say from this pic alone that things look cool. The experienced collectors will probably chime in. But even if they aren't stock, those white selectors look sexy anyway. It's the first time I see those in white and they match the white speakers jacks very nicely. 8)

Yes, some of the earlier units had the white selector plugs/knobs.

So far, so good! What's the serial number on that amp?

Dr.Hiwatt has the expertise on 3 digit serial numbered Hiwatts (early production). He probably knows in what timeframe the white selectors were used.

This pic was snapped at the 2008 Vintage Hiwatt Convention (I was in my Happy Place, behind stacks and stacks of HIWATTs :) ).

You can see one amp (partial, at the very top) with white selectors and another with brown indicator plates. Both are original to their respective amps.

The serial number has 4 didgits, the first two being 27XX.
It´s supposed to be a 1972 100W head.

Forgot to mention that my DR201 (S/N 54##) has black indicators and reddish-brown selectors:

That amp is indeed a 1972. Somewhere between #2100 and #2200 marked the end of 1971 and the begining of 1972.
White plugs were seldom used originally, black being predominant. They were so easily lost that it is nearly impossible to know if they were original...

It only matters that the plugs are there!

There is nothing about the pics that would scare me away yet. Pics of the underside are very important!

HI-TONE, when only the best will do.
