Bought new in 1971 from Dave Reeves in New Malden by Colin Pattenden bassist for the Manfred Mann Earth Band.
Thanks Colin and Jamie for letting her go to HIWATT Valley!

Congratulations on your new acquisition, Doc! :D I understand perfectly why you couldn't do without one such monster. Now all you have to worry about is getting those biceps toned up to haul her around and in and out from her box!!

thanks guys!
I will replace the GEC's with JJ KT88s and recap her, then she will be in her case for quite a while!

She sounds lovely!

I finally got around to recapping her. Since no one makes a 100uf cap can the right diameter, the best option is to use a 50uf+50uf and link the two 50uf terminals with a piece of Buss wire. I should have taken nice close-up pics before I started, but I didn't think about the informative value until I was nearly finished..............

I don't know, that one orange wire looks a little bit melted...

How do the KT88s sound? Still have much life in them?

I only played with the GEC's for a few minutes when I first got the amps. They sounded great, then I pulled them and put JJ's in it. The GEC's will be saved for rainy days!

Thanks! I noticed the caps on my "Moody Blues" DR201 were getting bulgy and crusty.

Nothing the good Doctor can't fix ;) !
