Re: Fane 15s - Differnce between blue and purple?

Probably sound great!

Can I throw these in here??

Those cast frames look slightly different - more rounded than the ones from my WEM 2x15

Re: Sound City Custom 100

Update on this amp too Took it to Chandlers Guitar Experience for a recap and for Tim to install a input bypass point - thus essentially making this into a slave amplifier for one of my cabinets. The Preamp is an Alembic F2b feeding this SC and my STA200. We biased it for 50 watts and I went for a m...

Re: New amp day

Bit of an update I took the amp to Tim @ Chandlers Guitar Experience in South West London. He diagnosed the fault as a dodgy mains switch, so he changed it and the amp fired into life. He also installed a Prescence control for me that is controlled from a pot on the back. Having that there is fantas...

Re: Anyone looking to buy a hiwatt se4122??

I'm sadly looking to sell my hiwatt cab.. Due to lack if space and not really using it anymore... It has original speakers stamped with 76.... For it's age I would say the condition is good.. Obviously a few bumps and scrapes.. But overall good condition... I'm in the uk... Please make me sensible ...

WTB: Crescendos or Purples

Hiya folks In a Floyd tribute and I am looking out for a 2x12 that can grab and go for rehearsals without lugging the 3 amp setup and rack. For example I have been looking after a Roost amplifier for a friend that gets me in the right area. Id like to get a similar combo - so does anyone have a pair...

Re: Speakers to compliment Eminence Tonkers

Just a bit of a follow up on this I received my Hiwatt and Sound City back from Chandlers Guitar Experience after having the Preamp in the Sound City bypassed and a presence control added to the Hiwatt. Putting the Hiwatt into the WEM with 2x15 Fane Crecendos I now love them. I as skeptical as to ho...

Yes, finding Mullard CV4004 seems to be trickier than the CV4024s. Do you know of reputable places in the UK to source them?

Would these also be genuine ECC83 NOS?

Valve Question

Hiya folks First off on an OT - my amps have returned from the tech and are now running as good as ever. My question is in regards to the authenticity of a valve I purchased a long while ago. It's a bit of a mixed feeling for me, I have been told that what I purchased was sold as a Mullard CV4024 bu...

Re: Installing a Presence control to STA200

Well, it's a little trickier, since there's already NFB going to the input stage cathode. You'd have to remove that, then add in the complete presence circuit from a standard DR preamp, from pin 6 of the input stage to the top of the 2k2 in the PI. --mark Hi Mark Thanks for your help. I have given ...

Both of which are fast blow fuses?
Yep, as long as you're on 240vac mains.

Installing a Presence control to STA200

Hiya folks I would like to install the Presence control to my newly acquired STA200 I have been studying the diagrams on MHuss's fantastic Hiwatt site and this is what I have deduced. The is similar to the DR103 - post MV. From this, could I pin out from Pin 6 on V3 to a separate turret board dedica...
