A nice pair of '72 122142 Fanes is on its way from the UK.

Now all the drivers in Old #6494 will have at least have matching stickers.

Anyone have an empty SE412x (rear loader) they want to part with? My Weber Thames need a new home.

I've seen pics of the direct-applied stickers before. Must have been a change somewhere along the line. I've got a quad of STAMPED frame 122142's and they have black plastic magnet covers. Will be interesting to find if you hear a difference between the models.mikhailwatt wrote:They're here.![]()
I've never seen a 122142 up close until now - interesting, no plastic cover like the 122231, but a much larger magnet (that much I knew) with the sticker applied directly to it.
Well, in case you want to go the other direction, there's another pair of 122142s on ebay (item 220272706312 - no relation). Pretty steep price, thoughmikhailwatt wrote:However... after auditioning them together, my son and I agreed that the 122142s overwhelm the 122231s, they're a bit louder and a little harder sounding in the upper mids. Really punchy, though. EQ-ing doesn't really help - when you dial in the 122142 you lose tone on the 122231.
Steep indeed... mine were less than half that BIN.OldSchoolDave wrote:Pretty steep price, though.
Well, you got a deal! And, whoever bites on the BIN won't. Somewhere in between is fair market value, IMHO.mikhailwatt wrote: Steep indeed... mine were less than half that BIN.
IMHO - I think you're right.OldSchoolDave wrote:Somewhere in between is fair market value, IMHO.
