Thank you! I grab the two speakers on ebay at a very fair price. They weren't far away from where I live, I've been lucky! :D

Yeah, I know Bob did a great job at servicing his Binson. Mine is in a very good shape, the wires in mine were better quality than those in later Binsons.

See you!

Thanks for posting! Tell us more about that amp. I've never seen a serial tag completed quite that way before :?: .

Different, for sure. The head box and covering look a little different too, but some of those early units did seem to vary a bit.
You can almost feel the current flowing
You can almost see the circuits blowing

Hello !

I dont know anything about that amp,I was found him on tractor trail with old furniture and other garbage.I was ask the man who driving this tractor how much money ask for amp , and he said "Just take it,this is broken piece of junk we was playing on this like kids."
I was bring the amp home and I was found dead mouses and about 2 pounds plaster and dirt inside. This was about 7 months ago.I was get him to repair and now I have the beast.
My friend put in new condensers , all tubes ,rewiring ( mouses was eating isolation ), some pots and all inputs and outputs.
Inside amp is some marks writen with green-blue marker(numbers and lettters).
I hope you will understand my english.

Greetings from Tibor.

hi all!

this is my first post! i m nicolas, i live in athens-greece. I m a physicist and an amateur musician.

i got my first hiwatt (yes, there is now a second one) a couple of years ago, from e-bay. It is a 4 input DR-103 (1975 i think) in a good condition! I flew to Germany with my spouse (she has now become my gear advisor!) and carried it back to athens! It was stored in a garage, at -20C that day. i still remember the joy of plugging my guitar in for the first time!

a few moths ago, out of pure greed :D i got my 1974 DR-504 for 800EUR from ebay. I guess it was a good bargain although the amp was not taken very well care of. Very dirty inside plus some holes at the bottom surface. I ll post some pics of that cause i need your advise on a possible re-cap - retube.

thanks to all for the info and the enthusiasm. a big thanks to mark huss , if it wasn't for his website, i guess i probably wouldn't be using a hiwatt now!
