Post by jcmh1 »

Just a heads up for any one who would like to follow up:

The following question comes from a listing on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-1973-Hiwat ... 19c03509b4

It is a 73 103 for sale in UK

This fellow may have some interesting things to tell if you follow up with the seller

Cool indeed. But how does one look underneath the pre-amp tag board? I have a DR103 amp that was wired by Harry Joyce Electronics wired during late 73 or early 74, so I'll report back if I can find anything.

Sounds to me like this is something anyone could do in his own basement, no? :D

Cheers,

I don't know how to remove a tag to look at the other side of it without disconnecting some solder joints. Some of those wires are on there tight.

Good point. I remember watching some guys trying to do just that and to say they wound up cursing those tight wires would be an understatement. Good luck!

What I did one time was to unbolt all the pots, and bend it up with the top towards the tubes, with the pots, etc., dangling.
