'78DR504 for sale
'78 Hiwatt DR504 FS. Mostly stock with a few replaced parts (power tube sockets, filter caps, one preamp cap, standby switch and grid resistors). The only mod is adjustable bias and a previous dumbass owner drilled a hole in the front panel for a mystery pot. It has the original Partridge Transforme...

'78 DR504 For Sale
'78 DR504 Only mods are a 25k bias pot, and a hole that some moron previous owner drilled in the frontplate for some unknown reason (filled with plastic cap plug). Other than that, parts were replaced as needed. One preamp cap, one power section cap and the standby switch. Filter caps and output tub...

Re: Gibson GA-40
Yeah, the Gibbys are great sounding little amps, and were quite a bargain on the used market -- until everyone started jumping on the bandwagon a couple years back. :? --mark Yeah, I looked around to figure out the value. Wow..... This one is all there, but nowhere near perfect. The guy who owns it...

Re: Gibson GA-40
I've got an old (brown) Skylark Tremelo (GA 5T). While there isn't quite enough going on to constitute a "rat's nest", it does deploy rather "freeform" wiring. Dave Freeform is an understatement. Just doing voltage checks is a major PITA, because so many wires try to occupy the ...

Gibson GA-40
Have any of you guys messed with one of these? My friend's brother has owned a '54 GA-40 "Les Paul" amp for about 30 years. It hasn't worked since he got it, and has been sitting in a closet ever since. He was over a while ago, and when he saw my homebuilt amp collection, asked if I'd look...

Re: Vintage HIWATT Convention 2010
After clearing it with the boss.... I am in... I'll be flying in, so I will be limited somewhat by what I can carry. I'll definitely bring one guitar (probably my Townshend SG or R4) and a few pedals. The 2 I think would be interesting to play with are a Catalinbread WIIO V.1 and a Wattson Superfuzz...

Re: DST-Engineering Fanes?
I've got a pair and I like them in my Swanson 2-12 open back DR504 combo. Can't comment on real Fanes, as I've never had any, but they are a smidge darker than my Weber Thames or Eminence Tonkers.

Clayton, Good to hear that you are alive...... Nothing is as cool as a harley, but damn, shit that would be a fender bender in a car is fatal on a bike. Almost all the guys in my band have gottne Harleys in the last few months, and the peer pressure is on. I am sticking to my GTO...... Get better so...
