'78 DR504 Only mods are a 25k bias pot, and a hole that some moron previous owner drilled in the frontplate for some unknown reason (filled with plastic cap plug). My Gibson R4 or PTSG, both with P-90s, are by far my favorite through my Hiwatts......

I've got a pair and I like them in my Swanson 2-12 open back DR504 combo. Can't comment on real Fanes, as I've never had any, but they are a smidge darker than my Weber Thames or Eminence Tonkers.
